Taking place on the night of October 16, 1957, in São Francisco de Sales, Brazil, Antonio Vilas-Boas, a 23-year-old farmer, was working late at night on his family's farm to avoid the daytime heat when he noticed a bright light in the sky. As he continued to observe, he realized that the light was coming from a large, egg-shaped craft with a cupola on top, emitting a rotating red light.
Intrigued and apprehensive, Vilas-Boas attempted to escape on his tractor, but the craft landed near him, extending three legs to the ground. From the craft emerged several small humanoid beings, about five feet tall, wearing grey overalls and helmets. Despite his efforts to flee, Vilas-Boas was overpowered and taken aboard the craft by these beings.
Once inside, Vilas-Boas was stripped of his clothes and covered in a strange gel-like substance. He was then subjected to various procedures, including inhaling an unusual gas that made him feel nauseated and weak. According to Vilas-Boas, he was led into a room with strange symbols and eventually had an encounter with a female alien being, who he described as having light-colored hair and distinctive blue eyes.
After several hours, Vilas-Boas was returned to the field, disoriented and confused. He found himself miles away from where he had been abducted. Seeking medical attention, he reported the incident to authorities and later recounted his experience to the Aerial Phenomena Research Organization (APRO), which conducted an investigation.
Throughout his life, Antonio Vilas-Boas maintained the authenticity of his account, despite skepticism and various theories attempting to explain his experience. The Vilas-Boas incident remains a cornerstone in the study of UFO abductions, contributing to the larger body of UFO folklore and research with its detailed narrative and vivid descriptions.
