The Manhattan UFO incident on October 14, 2010, is one of the more intriguing sightings in recent years. On that day, a mysterious, shiny, silvery object was seen floating high above the West Side of Manhattan, particularly in the Chelsea neighborhood. The object attracted a lot of attention, with dozens of people stopping in the streets, looking up in amazement and trying to capture it on their phones and cameras.
Witnesses described the object as a bright white light or a glittery, silver, balloon-like object that seemed to hover in the sky before disappearing from view. Despite the various descriptions, what made the sighting particularly notable was the widespread nature of the witnesses and the fact that it was seen in broad daylight over one of the busiest cities in the world.
The New York Police Department received multiple calls from concerned citizens, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) was notified as well. The FAA reported that they did not have any information on the object, ruling out airplanes and helicopters, but they couldn't provide a definitive explanation either.
Speculation ran wild, with some people humorously suggesting that it might have been Superman or Wonder Woman, while others thought it could have been a balloon or some other type of floating object. Despite various investigations and much media attention, the event remains unexplained.
