Detailed Summary

Marius Dewilde's experience is one of the most famous UFO encounters in France, taking place on September 10, 1954. Marius Dewilde, a metalworker, lived in an abandoned railway station house in Quarouble. On that particular night, Dewilde was awakened by the frantic barking of his dog. Curious and concerned, he decided to step outside to investigate. As Dewilde stepped into the night, he carried a flashlight and soon noticed a metallic, disc-shaped object with a dome on top, hovering about 15 feet above the ground. The object emitted a pulsating light and made a humming sound, capturing Dewilde's full attention. As he approached the craft, he witnessed a hatch open, revealing two small humanoid figures. The figures, approximately three feet tall, had large, almond-shaped eyes, and appeared to have metallic, silvery skin. Despite the initial shock, Dewilde noted that the figures communicated with him telepathically, imparting a sense of peace and calmness. They then returned to the craft, which ascended rapidly and vanished into the night sky. The encounter left Dewilde both fascinated and bewildered. He reported the incident to the local authorities, who initiated an investigation. The French government also got involved, but despite thorough investigations, no physical evidence was found to support Dewilde's claims. Nevertheless, his detailed and consistent account has made this encounter one of the most well-known UFO sightings in France.
