On August 15, 1663, in the small village near Lake Robozero, Russia, something extraordinary unfolded. It was a day marked by a church feast, with the local inhabitants gathered to celebrate.
Around noon, a strange and awe-inspiring sight appeared in the sky. Witnesses, including a local farmer named Levka Federov, reported seeing a massive, fiery object moving from the north towards the south. This object was described as a large ball of fire, estimated to be about 40 meters in diameter, emitting intense heat and bright, burning rays.
The fiery object moved along the surface of Lake Robozero, its heat so intense that it prevented anyone from approaching it on the lake. The object’s passage caused the lake to light up to a depth of 30 feet, an effect that fascinated and terrified the villagers. Fish in the lake were seen swimming frantically towards the shore, and the water appeared to be covered in a rust-like substance under the object's red light.
The object didn’t stay in one place. It disappeared and reappeared several times, each time moving in a different direction, adding to the mystery and confusion of the onlookers. Each reappearance of the object brought with it intense light and heat, creating a surreal and unforgettable scene for those who witnessed it.
This extraordinary phenomenon was documented in an official report by the monastery of St. Cyril, ensuring that the details of this event were preserved for future generations.
